1983. Born in Paris to a Vietnamese father and a French
mother, Barbara Bui entered the fashion world when she opened a studio-boutique
on the rue de Turbigo in Paris.
1987. First fashion show in Paris and showroom presentation of her
collection to French and international buyers. The Barbara Bui label
was born.
1988. The first Barbara Bui boutique opened on the rue Etienne Marcel
in Paris . This opening was met with international success.
Barbara Bui rapidly captivated women with her style. Expressing a
touching and real, strong yet fragile woman, she created a balance
between elegant simplicity and rock'n roll romanticism.
1998. Barbara Bui was introduced on the stock market.
The same year, Barbara Bui created Initials Barbara Bui, a concept
of separates that marvellously completed the spirit of her main line
to perfection. This collection's spectacular pants, both androgynous
and feminine, have developed many enthusiasts.
1999. Barbara Bui presented her fashion show in New York for the first
time and opened a large boutique in the heart of Soho.
Other important openings would take place, avenue Montaigne in Paris
and Via Manzoni in Milan.
2000. Barbara Bui launched her first luxury accessories collection
- handbags and shoes.
In order to enhance the brand's image, Barbara Bui collaborated with
high profile fashion photographers, such as David bailey.
2003. The designer launched BUI de Barbara Bui, a combination of refined
casual separates. Barbara Bui was unanimously elected a member of
the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Française et des Créateurs
de Mode and returned to the runways for Paris Fashion Week.
2004. The first fragrance Barbara Bui Le Parfum was launched; a silent,
intimate and caressing sensuality revealed in a pure transparent bottle.
Musk, amber, and incense combined form the signature.
2007. Barbara Bui inaugurated a boutique devoted to the accessory
with a new concept on rue de Grenelle in Paris and Via Sant' Andrea
in Milan.
In March, she opened her first boutique in partnership in Moscow on
Red Square.
In October, a new boutique in Ekaterinburg, Russia.
2008. In spring, opening of a shoe-in-shop at Printemps department
store, Paris, completing the already existing ready-to-wear corner.
Signature of a partnership with Bluebell Group in Korea, followed
by an opening of the first boutique in Seoul in Galleria East.
In September, opening of a new boutique on rue du Faubourg-Saint-Honoré
in Paris.
