JOINT STATEMENT BY BRITISH FASHION COUNCIL, CAMERA NAZIONALE DELLA MODA ITALIANA, COUNCIL OF FASHION DESIGNERS OF AMERICA, FEDERATION FRANÇAISE DE LA COUTURE, DU PRET A PORTER DES COUTURIERS ET DES CREATEURS DE MODE. - 25 April 2016
Monday 25th April 2016
On Sunday, 24th April 2016, the Fédération Française de la Couture hosted a meeting with British Fashion Council, Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana and Council of Fashion Designers of America at the International Fashion and Photography Festival in Hyères. The meeting was relaxed and informal, but nonetheless was a landmark event in that it was the first time in modern history that all four leading fashion councils had met in person (for many years they have met as individual councils on an ad hoc basis). The four councils shared information and discussed subjects including digital, sustainability, and education. They also used the opportunity to discuss setting the fashion calendar dates to 2020. The meeting was extremely positive and it was agreed that the four councils should build on this friendship and be more proactive in sharing knowledge and opportunities to collaborate in the future.
Present at the meeting were Ralph Toledano, Pascal Morand, Steven Kolb, Carlo Capasa and Caroline Rush.
